Hinako Terauchi is a PhD student in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. She is interested in studying how the human bacterial microbiome influences the host physiology particularly in inducing a disease state. She is a member of the Mansfield lab, where she is exploring the relationship between the bacterial microbiome and development of allergic asthma. Hinako earned her B.S. at Michigan State University through Lyman Briggs College, where she majored in Microbiology and Genetics and Molecular Genomics and worked in the Abramovitch lab.
